Apple may launch the iPad Mini 5 and an entry-level iPad in the first half of 2019 according to Taiwanese publication Digitimes.
The publication names two touch panel manufacturers in Asia and mentions that “Apple reportedly plans to launch two entry-level tablets in the first half of 2019, including a fifth-generation iPad mini and another entry-level iPad model.”
Much details regarding the upgrades of the iPad Mini 5 is not available in the report. However, according to some analysis, the iPad will feature a lower cost panel along with an upgraded processor.
There has not been any recent update of iPad Mini by Apple. The iPad Mini 4 was launched by Apple in 2015, which is still available at a slight higher price compared to last year’s entry level iPad.
Last month there has been a leakage of information about iPad Mini 5, which is believed to be representing the design of the 2018 iPad Pro, including support for Apple’s smart connector.
According to Digitimes, which has stated the Apple 2019 launch mentions that as entry-level iPad commonly gets an update in March or April, so one can expect Apple to launch a new iPad during the same time span. In India, the current-generation iPad is sold for about Rs 26,000.
